Then, I painted the furniture. The paint color I used for the armoire and dresser was Behr, Powdered Snow from Home Depot. Since I had left over paint from another project I was working on, I didn't have to go out and buy any paint, but its about $30 for a gallon of Behr Paint & Primer in One in a Satin Finish. I just used a foam roller to paint both pieces.
I didn't sand it down before painting, and the time before when i had painted them black I didn't sand them either. I haven't had any issues with chipping or the paint rubbing off, but it never hurts to sand down any furniture before painting.
I painted this Sterlight Plastic Drawers to make them a little more eye pleasing. The clear bins that they come with just looked extremely messy all the time. I took Krylon ColorMaster Paint and Primer Ocean Breeze in a gloss finish and spray painted all the drawers with 2 coats. Once 2nd coat dried I sprayed the drawers with Krylon ColorMaster Acrylic Crystal Clear Enamel in a satin finish to protect the paint and also to remove the tone down the glossy appearance. I also touched up the white base with 1 coat of Krylon Fusion for Plastic White Paint in a satin finish because the drawers were really dirty and wiping them down with Lysol wouldnt remove the dirt. Since I already had the Sterlight Plastic Drawers, this project only cost me about $13.00 for the spray paint, which I ended up also using for other projects throughout the room.
